The struggle to defend civil liberties and political rights is multi-pronged. A big part is, of course, the political mobilizations demanding a public inquiry. But we can't forget the people who were nabbed, beaten, imprisoned and charged by police. Getting the charges dropped will also help the political campaign by demonstrating that the charges were nothing more than harassment and intimidation. If enough people give a few dollars each, it will go a long way.
